Hummer

I need to pick a car for the character in my story, but I don't really know enough to make a good decision.

I'm picturing a big truck, or something like a truck, so maybe an SUV. It's going to be dark forest green. The owner has a lot of money, but the reader doesn't know this yet. He doesn't show off his money, so the car shouldn't be too flashy or overly expensive, but it should imply that he is able to afford a really nice car and that he does have an above average amount of money. Something that either has or can be adapted to have a SUPER nice stereo system. I don't particularly care what company makes the car, so long as it's not a Hummer. The car owner is very down-to-earth and straightforward, if that helps at all. He's 28 and incredibly polite. He doesn't drive this car often; he usually has a chauffeur and a limo, but he does get the occasion once and a while to go out alone. Okay, I've narrowed it down to these two trucks: http://www.chevrolet.com/byo/buildSummary.cv;jsessionid=1T0M114JWQXJYCQN1ECSCZQKBXMQEIMO?selectedOptions=JF4&selectedOptions=U3U&selectedOptions=V54&selectedOptions=DPN&selectedOptions=UD7&selectedOptions=CF5&fromPage=Option&inValidOptions=&modelDesignator=CK30943&pvc=81306&exteriorColor=Dark+Blue+Metallic+&colorOptions=25U%5E313%5EAN3&styleId=Crew+Cab+Long+Box+LTZ&interiorColorId=313&make=Chevrolet&seatTypeId=AN3&model=Silverado&cabSize=Crew+Cab&regularOptions=JF4%5EU3U%5EV54%5EDPN%5EUD7%5ECF5&modelId=109&wheelBaseId=0&cabSizeId=3&exteriorColorId=25U&y=11&boxSizeId=20&x=32&year=2008&driveType=4WD+Drive&interiorColor=Light+Cashmere%2F+Ebony+Custom+Leather-appointed+&subModelId=324&cabSizeLength=2&makeId=001&subModel=3500HD&style=Crew+Cab+Long+Box+LTZ&zip=95687&boxSizeLength=2&wheelBaseLength=0&driveTypeId=11&vehicleModel=%2Fimages%2Fgmbp%2F13001%2Fvehicle%2F2008%2Fmed%2F324_722J.gif&driveTypeLength=2&x=23&y=13 http://www.lincoln.com/configurator/BuildAndPriceSummary.aspx

Public Comments

  1. Jeep Grand Cherokee
  2. I have two choices: Ford Escape or GMC Avalanche
  3. nissan xterra
  4. Lincoln Navigator (comes in truck or SUV version) links are below to take a look. They look like vehicles the Men In Black would use. Very stylish and makes a person take notice because of its class. http://imgup-lb.automotive.com:8080/files/6302477.w550.jpg http://www.edmunds.com/pictures/VEHICLE/2008/Lincoln/2008.lincoln.navigator.20123456-396x249.jpg
  5. Give him a "Land Rover, Discovery"
  6. He can drive something like a Jeep. I don't know what kind of Jeep maybe like a Gran Cherokee. Those are nice. Well good luck with your character, he sounds like a great guy.
  7. How about a Nissan Pathfinder?
  8. Lincoln Navigator : http://blogs.trucktrend.com/6209873/suv-news/lincoln-navigator-awarded-interior-of-the-year/index.html
  9. escalade♥-
  10. good candidates: Toyota 4-Runner Ford F-250 Pick-up Jeep Grand Cherokee (with the Hemi)
  11. Definately a Lincoln Navigator.
  12. Jeez, and I thought I have issues! How about something subtle, like a 1967 Renault Dauphine? Or, a 1974 Pantera?, or a 07 vette?
  13. Cadillac Escalade, or a Porchse Chyeanne (sp?) Or the king of pretiousness, any type of BMW(which might add some irony to your story)
  14. Toyota Land Cruiser
  15. I did notice your comment about the Hummer. Your story truely fits if it were an H1 (original) Get the wagon with the dark tinted windows. They are fantastic for taking your sweet lady into the outdoors in total comfort. They make a statement without breaking the budget. They are (used) the same price as a new like you are looking for. Good luck on your project
