- lol yes are you paying them back? ps your friends sound like doodles
- Your friend is definitely far more spoiled than you, however anyone who receives a car for practically free is spoiled. My first car was a 1985 BMW 318i, and that broke down...2nd is a 1988 Lincoln Towncar Signaute (with 73k miles) ...both paid for by my grandparents. Be fortunate for what you receive, as long as it moves and is reliable and you don't have to pay for it, it's a godsend. Most people don't get a car until they're setup with a stable career. Anyways...yeah, you are/ :P
- shes dumb.. say tht to her nsted
- LMFAO. a SCION isnt korean. its japanese. scion is a division of toyota. omg some ppl are stupid. while scions TC's are slow, they are reliable and they dont look too bad. they react very well to boost and their engine is robust. your not spoiled for getting that car. a lot of high school kids have one.
- lol if your parents can afford it why not
- no, the tc is a terrible car. also, the lancer, hummer h3, and the dodge challenger aren't great cars either. the lancer's automatic is a terrible cvt, and its manual feels like that of an 85 renault. the hummer is just ghastly, cheaply made, ugly, uses leafs springs, and has reverse tardis. the challenger handles like an suv (one reviewer commented that the vw toaureg diesel handles better than the challenger), and is also cheaply made. i hate to say it, but your car is the best out of the bunch, even if your car does lose out to all its competitors. just because your friend's cars are expensive doesn't make them good.
- wow 13k for a 2010 car...nice ;)
- I think you have a reliable car that could last if you do general maintenance. Its also pretty fuel efficient, especially compared to the Hummer, challenger, mustang and corvette. And be a good driver too. It gonna suck if you get into accidents, dings or dents cuz its brand new.
- Billium I would like to know what you base your opinions about the Challenger on? I own a Challenger and came from a heavily modified IS300. Having come from the IS300 I can promise you I know what it means to drive a car that handles well and I can say that the Challenger is far from bad. It has an amazing 5 link independent rear suspension and is surprisingly responsive for its size. With the few suspension modifications I've put into my Challenger I can say that it handles on par with MANY cars I've driven. As for being cheaply made... Have you ever been in one or had a chance to see its long term reliability first hand? I've pushed my Challenger to hell and back for the last 20k miles and have had 0, I repeat 0, issues. It sounds to me like you may just be jumping onto that "Anti American Automaker" bandwagon. It bothers me that so many people can just talk out their asses as if what they have to say is fact. Now for the original question as I don't want to flame without providing some input. Are you a good and deserving kid? It sounds to me like you're pretty level headed and responsible. You may be spoiled in the fact that your parents are giving you a car but that shouldn't matter if you're deserving of it. On top of that, if you really plan to pay them back then I see no issue at all. Paying them back turns this into an amazing loan from amazing parents. Just enjoy it and don't worry about what anyone says. This will turn into a valuable asset as you won't need to spend money buying a car when you go to college and you can focus more on school and living expenses. Just make sure you maintain your new vehicle so you can use this opportunity for saving to its full potential.
