How do I stop the army from stopping at my house?
BUT, before that they keep calling me and texting me. The staff sargent asked me to join and he wanted to see me. I was making up an excuse that I didn't have a ride. So, the staff sargent sent a ride to pick me up. The next day, I got home from HS and there were 2 military Hummers and guys with digital uniforms. They wanted to talk to me about joining. They wanted me to get in their hummer and drive to the nearest recruit station just outside of town. Yes, I live near an army base. I told them that I already made up my mind. I want to go to college. How did the army get my information? WHo's selling them my information? In June, I went to get my permit license. Is this where the army got my information? I don't remember signing up for selective service. I'm only 17.

- Lol that's messed up. They must realy want you. Just know that if a draft starts, your name is at the top of the list. Edit: Apparently some don't get the joke intended :P like "Back with a new name"
- go to the police its not right that they keep bothering you!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
- Hang a US Navy flag by your front door.
- Your name is provided to the military via the No Child Left Behind Act by your high school. Your parents have to opt you out in order to not be contacted.
- That's a bit extreme, but entirely within their mandate. I'm glad the Canadian recruiters aren't like that. You can't really stop them, other than telling them to get the hell off your property. Make threatening references to the "Castle Doctrine", or phone your local police and let 'em know that weird people in camo with weapons are skulking around your home.
- start wearing a turban. they will leave u alone
- The idiots above, JMAN and Demi, need to go away. They are both wrong. Apparently you submitted your information or inquired about the military with a station/recruiter for them to have you cell number and address. If you are not interested in enlisting, just tell him. Apparently you are not man enough to be able to say no. Enjoy the real world, if you can’t handle some recruiters. They are just doing their job. A very hard and difficult job to do, I suggest you respect them and don’t waste their time.
- Thats kind of standard nowadays. They got the information through the selective service when you got your permit. They got mine when I just wanted a free shirt at college, same time i got my first credit card.
- tell them your only a level 3 and you don't have any answers for them.and they are not your answer.(yet if you choose).ask why they are targeting you/\.they told me to bring my own blanket.later i got a choice letter to face a court marshal or sign for a honorable discharge.i was in the pre entry program.guess what one i picked.
- You don't have to 'sign up' for selective service. If you want your license, you don't have a choice!!! (At least not in Colorado.) I doubt this is where they got your info though. Did you ever look into the military on the internet? Talk to a service member outside of your high school? Did a friend of your refer you to a recruiter. I know that when I joined, my recruiter asked me to give her 5 names and phone numbers of people who may want to join the Air Force. This is the most likely. Good Luck!
