I seen an ad on Craigslist and the person (who's stationed in Iraq, supposedly) is selling their 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 SE for just $2,880. The car, according to the pictures from the e-mails I've received, looks to be in brand-spanking mint condition and it has under 40,000 miles. The person claims that she is selling it because she's trying to purchase a more up to date car (a Hummer H2) and needs money to buy it. We're working on a deal through Ebay Motors, or something like that, where her "agent" would hold on to my payment until the car has been shipped to me here in Connecticut from South Carolina. I, then, have 15 days to inspect the car to see if I want to purchase it. if I agree to purchase it, then she would receive my money and I will have me a real good car to drive for the next 3-5 years. However, I've been told through Western Union and read reports from Craigslist that scams can be done through situations like this and I prefer NOT to be a victim of any scam. I've worked too hard to get to where I am now and I refuse to let some potential scam artist take that away from me. So do you guys think I should proceed on with the deal or should I just walk away from it and look elsewhere for a car? Please no negativity or any false nonsense.
