Question about Hummers?
I'm doing a speech about Hummers, and I was wondering, we all see Hummers out on streets.. right? well, they are also Army cars too.. but my question is, does the army Hummers have special stuff or whatever? or are they the same like we see that are regular cars out on the streets? If you know about them, what do they do?

- It is mostly armor that is the difference. An ARMY one has massive amounts of armor on it to protect the people inside it.
- Army HUMVEEs are roughly equal to H1's, which are not sold any more. The current H2's and H3's are based on GM car platform. Army Humvees have much lower gear ratio, and do not have keys. Just press a button to start. They're padlocked if they're going into civilian areas. Army Humvees can have armor, but not always. The ones serving in Iraq and Afghanistan have armor retrofitted, but the extra armor means they need to upgrade the motor as well as all that armor weighs a lot.
- the new h2 and h3 are economy hummers that are made for general use army humvee are more like the h1 the h1 is a army humvee without the hole in the roof for the gun turret and the armor is removed now if you really want to sound smart heres something army hummvee have a very low gear ratio for slow speeds but lots of pulling power the civilian h1 h2 h3 have a higher geared trasmission for on road use because they at least have to go the speed limit army hummvee top out at about 65-70 the h1-h3 top out at about 90-100 and the humvee is built to last unlike the h1-h3 they are like any other new vehicle the aren't made to last they are made to break after so much use unlike the humvee if you need more you can just email me at flame_god626?@yahoo.com
