- H3s are basically garbage when it comes to off-road capability. I have a friend who used to go 4-wheeling with who had one and my 2001 Explorer negotiated more mudholes and boulder fields than the H3 did. If you are looking for something to give you that testosterone boost and make you an instant b@d@ss, I guess the H3 is what you want. In my opinion, that's all H3's are good for. They are basically a glorified Tahoe. Watch out for the inline five cyl motor. The FJ is an off road vehicle through and through and gets better fuel mileage.
- if you're looking for something which works very well offroad, then its definitely the Hummer but if you're looking for something which looks better and stylish, then its the FJ Cruiser........
- i would definitely go with the fj cruiser. I went inside the h3 and my head was hitting the ceiling the whole time (im 6'3") but i still think the h3 is too small inside. and personally i like the looks of the fj cruiser
- Well, kind of branching off from the other answers, the FJ Cruiser has lousy back seats and a cramped in interior. A Hummer is still more spacious because it has maximum leg room for the front and back, it's wider for more hip room, but both have comparable head room. I would choose the Hummer because of the interior room. They both have comparable off road abilities and power. Make sure that if you NOT planning on going off road with the Hummer, please get the Luxury Package. The ride is smoother and has a better sound system.
- Off Road: Hummer. Capuccino: FJ By the way the FJ is very ugly, it is an insult that great rough old car from the sixties.
- a hummer h3 i got that instead of a fj hummers are better
- I drive the H3 and my mom has the FJ Cruiser. I am IN LOVE with my hummer. I have a 2006. I recently got to drive the 2007 and it has a lot more power than mine. I've taken mine mudding/off roading and it has done excellent! My mom really likes her FJ Cruiser too. Have you seen the inside? The car is pretty funky, very sort of retro I guess you could call it. I like the looks of both cars. I would just test drive them both and see which one fits you best.
